Healthy Diet and Nutrition

Much of the elderly population does not receive proper nourishment. High processed foods and sugar contribute to joint pain and inflammation. Home cooked, whole food meals and snacks nourish the body and contribute to energy levels. In my client’s best interest, I create healthy menus based upon their current health and acquired tastes.

Medication Reminders

Daily meds are given as scheduled along with any additional, regular supplements.

Inspiration

Bringing joy and laughter to the elderly plays a large part in 
maintaining good health.  Laughter truly is good
medicine for the soul!

Grooming

Showering is not a favorite activity of the elderly, so I do my best to assure safety and comfort while bathing and showering. I also provide assistance in dressing and undressing, as well as keeping clothing fresh and clean.

Creativity

As a part time live-in caregiver, I utlitze my background as a creative arts coach, and offer activities such as drawing, painting, sketching, coloring, and any other form of expression to stimulate the client.

Puzzle assembly is also a wonderful activity for brain stimulation.

Storytelling, memoir writing, and other forms of creative expression can also be incorporated in our part time, live-in contract.

Movement

Movement is of the utmost importance! Walks in nature, listening to music to stimulate dance (within the client’s limits) are so essential to healthy living. Music from the client’s era has also been proven to lift their spirit and contribute to a quality life.

Transportation

I provide full transportation, including driving to and from appointments, running errands, going to and from church, as well as visits to client’s friends.
